Purpose-built venues constructed for a specific sport with limited local demand after the Games have proven a particularly persistent problem, with several past host cities left maintaining expensive, underused facilities for decades after the two-week event that justified their original construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizers are shifting toward reusing existing infrastructure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
