Agencies increasingly describe having to make explicit triage decisions about which crises receive limited available funding, prioritizing based on severity and visibility in ways that often leave protracted, less-publicized displacement situations chronically underfunded relative to crises that have drawn more sustained media and donor attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donor fatigue compounds a growing need<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Major donor governments cite competing domestic budget pressures and a proliferation of simultaneous crises competing for the same finite pool of humanitarian funding, a dynamic aid officials describe as donor fatigue setting in precisely as global displacement needs have reached their highest recorded levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
